MUN Reflection (Israeli delegate)
1) The thing that I am most proud of about this conference is that I tried really hard to have a refined speech, and to have accurate facts and statistics for evidence.
2) The thing I connected with most during this project was the fact that I could actually complete my own research and learn more about Judaism and Islam. I felt my research and extra background regarding differences of Israelis and Palestinians deeply aided me in creating my speech and defending my country.
This affected my conference performance because if I wouldn’t have done extra research I wouldn’t have been able to create strong arguments with legitimate evidence. I was able to use facts such as the percent of the world who are Islamic and the number of Muslim-Majority countries.
3) The most important thing I learned because of this project was the differences in religion throughout the world and how they play active roles in the lives of everyone around the world. yThis project made me realize that religions can intersect each other, and when they do, it leads to chaos. An example of this is that Palestinians and Judaists have the same holy-ground, therefore after the Holocaust when the Zionists set out to return to their homeland and claim it as their own, they realized that the land also had religious meaning to the Palestinians, which lead to Palestinians being pushed from their land.
4) If I was a teacher or an observer of the conference, I would have noticed the inconsistency in some arguments. I would have also noticed that the evidence and facts of some delegates were falsified, while some delegates had no evidence at all. I would have recognized that some people aren’t strong public speakers and were still trying hard to communicate their arguments.
5) We have another conference in 3 weeks regarding a new topic of debate, to improve my performance I will definitely pre-read my speech out loud because I found myself being very repetitive with certain statistics and arguments.
6) My resolution was in the docket, it was one of the resolutions that could have been passed.
7) My amendment to the USA’s resolution passed, however the I . It stated that when refugees were accepted into new countries, the world be granted equal rights and the current peoples.
8) I made approximately four speeches, defending Israel’s right to be recognized as a country (Which was repeatedly questioned), and expressing my desire for Palestinians to be sent to surrounding countries. I made about 10 comments, after the speeches of others.
9) I believe that I should receive a 93%, because I had my resolution in the docket and I made many speeches.
