In advisory we took a survey to obtain an awareness of our own individual social style, as well as that of others. Being able to understand social styles provides the ability to create and maintain more effective communications and relationships. The profiles are based upon strengths and provide the opportunity to see and appreciate the different strengths. With an awareness of the spectrum of social styles, one can develop a greater tolerance and understanding of other styles, and gain greater versatility in communicating. My social style is amiable-analytical. I like to be treated with kindness and try to avoid conflict with others by treating them the same way. I feel misunderstood when my quietness is perceived as rudeness. Sometimes I’m not confident enough to share my ideas and that isn't always observed by others in a positive way.
